Affiliate programs we participate in

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Each calculator includes a small set of vendor links chosen for direct relevance to the calculation. We do not list vendors we have not used or do not believe in. As of publication:

• Amazon Associates — the affiliate program we currently participate in; fallback affiliate on most calculators (rebar, room BTU, beekeeping, welding, tile, solar).

What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link includes a tracking parameter so the vendor can attribute a purchase to the site that referred you. When you click an affiliate link and then make a purchase within the vendor's cookie window (typically 7 to 45 days), BenchCalcs receives a small commission from the vendor — at no additional cost to you. The price you see is the same with or without the affiliate link.

How we identify affiliate links

Every affiliate link on this site carries the HTML attribute rel="nofollow sponsored" per Google's link-attribution guidelines. Affiliate blocks on each calculator are visually distinct — a "Recommended gear" kicker with the disclosure "As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases." directly above the links.

Display advertising

Display ads on this site are served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits; you can opt out at Google Ad Settings. Google pays us a share of the ad revenue generated by ads shown on our pages.

The footer of every page includes the disclosure: "This site is monetized with display advertising (Google AdSense) and affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases."

Editorial independence

No vendor on this site has editorial influence. We do not accept payment to add, promote, or recommend a specific product within a calculator. Affiliate links are selected by the operator based on direct usefulness to the calculator's audience.

If a vendor stops being a fit (poor product, bad service, dishonest pricing) we remove the link, regardless of commission level.

Your data

We do not collect personally identifiable information through the calculators. Inputs are processed entirely in your browser; nothing is transmitted to a server. If we later add a free contractor-quote service to the cost calculators, it will be disclosed here and beside the request button, and we would receive a referral fee from the quote network when you request quotes.
